Soldiers raid ex-militant leader’s house in Rivers

Nigerian soldiers, on Monday night, raided the house of former militant leader, Solomon Ndigbara, in Yeghe community, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State

During the raid on the house of the former militant leader, heavy shooting was reported to have occurred in the area.

Punch Newspapers reports that indigenes of the community had abandoned their homes and fled to neighbouring communities as the soldiers took over Ndigbara’s house and its surroundings.

Mlitary operations were also extended to Khana Local Government Area where some people were said to have been injured while running for safety.

Some youths working for the former militant leader are believed to have set ablaze the campaign office of the Rivers South-East senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Magnus Abe, in Bori, Khana LGA.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer, 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, Captain Eli Lazarus, stated that there was an ongoing military operation by the Army in Gokana.
