Damilola Oloye, plying under the moniker Oloye (Mr Money), has released a new track titled ‘Mess Around’. The songwriter cum singer is based in New York but was raised in Ibadan. Signed to a Nigeria based music label, Los Caballos Entertainment, the music enthusiast grew up listening to his father’s collection that included music by legendary musicians like Sunny Ade, Fela, Ebenezer Obey, Aruna Ishola, Orlando Owoh, IK Dairo, etc.
Armed with early influences from these veterans, Oloye has added his knowledge of contemporary hip hip to produce music that appeals.Having shared a stage with the likes of D’banj, Wande Coal, Dr SID, 9ice, Tolu Maintain, Timaya and Bracket, he is ready to storm the Nigerian market. He is currently working on his debut album but already has some singles out. ‘Mess Around’ is the newest one. The song was recorded and engineered by the New York based Studio Engineer, Quamie and the beat was produced by Alex Akpan from Sugar records. Listen below:
