Nelson Mandela’s death at the age of 95 sparked a mix of mourning and celebrations in South Africa as people took to the streets in Soweto and other parts of the country.
There was singing, dancing and blaring of vuvuzelas as they celebrate the death of the ‘freedom icon’
Around 40 people formed a circle in the middle of Vilakazi Street, where Nelson Mandela once lived, and sang songs from the anti-apartheid struggle. Some people were draped in South African flags and the green, yellow and black colors of Mandela’s party, the African National Congress
