@StanbicIbtc set to launch annual business leadership series

by Jewel Stephen

The creation of deeper connections and development of a new cadre of leadership among people and businesses in Nigeria is pivotal to economic and social development.

A new forum developed by Stanbic IBTC, called the Business Leadership Series will do just this. It will focus on a wide range of economic and governance issues, with some of Nigeria’s leading business people in attendance.

The first edition of the annual series themed “Entrenching the Link between Leadership and Growth of Business” will take place in Lagos on October 16, 2014. The one-day forum will consist of a networking cocktail, three expert presentations and followed by a Q&A session.

Sim Shagaya, founder of online retail chain, Konga.com and international business speaker, Vusi Thembekwayo, and Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Mrs Sola David-Borha will headline as lead speakers. The lecture will provide insights into the next stage of Nigeria’s economic development and be an avenue for key thought leaders to discuss economic issues of the day.

For Sola David-Borha, a major objective of the leadership series is to provide participants an enhanced understanding of investment issues in Nigeria and create a platform for players from across sectors to network.

The Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest banking group, has been in operation for 151 years and has direct, on-the-ground representation in 20 African countries. Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc. provides the full spectrum of financial services with a clear focus on: Personal and Business Banking, Wealth Management and Corporate and Investment Banking.

The Stanbic IBTC Business Leadership Series is strictly by invitation.
