Unknown gunmen have attacked, Potiskum, a major town in Yobe State. They were said to have attacked a police station, razed a branch of a commercial bank and telecommunication facilities.

Unconfirmed reports say several policemen were either injured or killed but the number of affected casualties cannot be ascertained at this moment.

Yobe State has been a hotbed of violence with many people killed by groups suspected to be affiliated with the dreaded Islamic group, Boko Haram.
