Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram militant Islamic group stormed a boarding school in Yobe killing 30 students.

The incident reportedly happened around 2am on Saturday at the Government Secondary School located in the town of Mamudo.

Reports say the attack was so gruesome that some of the victims were burnt alive while some escaped with gunshot wounds.

This attack is in-spite of the State of Emergency declared by the Federal Government in three states including Yobe.

There is currently a heavy presence of military men in the location and all those injured in the attack have being rushed to hospitals in the state capital, Damaturu to receive the much needed medical attention.
