Stop criticising him, he is God sent”, this was said of President Goodluck Jonathan by a group called ‘De Servant’, on Tuesday, 27 August during a media interactive session at the Secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Yenagoa.
The group enjoined the All Progressive Congress (APC) and other political parties to support the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, adding that his performance is convincing enough to return him in 2015.
De Servant also stated that the sponsored and selfish criticism by opposition groups and political parties have become too personal and worrisome to numerous supporters of the present administration.
Kime Engozu, the leader of the group, who spoke during the session, said the Jonathan should not be considered a human accident but a divine decision for the attainment of infrastructural and human capital development.
He said, “We felt we should call on the opposition groups and political parties to soft pedal and take a good and unbiased look at performance instead of selfish motive. The administration of President Goodluck Jonathan has positioned the electoral system in such a way that the choice of the people, irrespective of political parties, wins. This was demonstrated in Ogun, Edo, Osun and Anambra states.”
He also pleaded that for the sake of National security, the opposition parties should stop the politics of animosity.
“Whereas we appreciate the emergence of virile opposition parties,we plead that they should be nationalistic and shun the politics of acrimony, blackmail, threats to National security and careless use of derogatory language.”
