Police say an Italian priest stole cash from a group of nuns to pay a man for sex.
The priest, whose name was not disclosed was said to have used the money entrusted to him by the nuns in a local Convent in Feltre, Belluno, Italy.
It was reported that he used it to pay his lover – a Moroccan man with whom it is believed he had a ‘long standing relationship’ with. Although the exact amount he was accused of stealing is not yet known, some sources suggest the money ran into thousands of Euros.
Daily News reports:
Il Gazzetino reports that the priest was suspended by the Bishop of Belluno-Feltre for “health reasons.”
A “full investigation” into his alleged antics is now underway.
The Local reports that it’s not the first time a priest has been busted using ill-gotten gains to pay for sex.
A Turin clergyman reportedly paid a Romanian woman $480,000 in September after she blackmailed him over their affair.
