Lamido and sons jailed in Kano Prison

Former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, his two sons, Aminu and Mustapha, and an aide will be behind bars, in Kano Prison till September 28.

A Federal high court sitting in Kano today, July 9, ordered that the quartet should be remanded until September, when their bail application will be heard.

They are accused of collecting bribe totaling N1.35 billion from a government contractor, while in control of the state.

The twenty eight-count charge against Sule Lamido, Aminu Sule Lamido, Mustapha Sule Lamido and one Aminu Wada Abubakar, was read in court.

They pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to them.

In spite a plea from their counsel that they should be transferred to the EFCC cell in Abuja or Kano, Justice Evelyn Anyadike ruled that they should be kept in Kano prison
