Sunday Oliseh says he’s ‘struggling financially’

The controversial coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh has revealed that he is in dire straits, financially.

Ahead of the important Africa Cup of Nations qualification tie against Egypt on March 25 in Kaduna, the coach of the Nigerian senior national team, says he needs funds to ‘move around Europe’.

Oliseh made the disclosure during a programme on Brila FM, where he stated that his team list is being delayed because it’s been difficult initiating contact with players and inviting them for the march, without the requisite funds.

He said: “I am struggling financially, waiting for approvals to move around Europe, so it has been quiet. It has to do with transport, accommodation and other expenses while moving out.”

“I need to spend 15, 20 minutes on the phone to speak to each player before he is invited,” Oliseh added.

The coach further revealed that he would open camp in middle of March with players from the local league.

Her also revealed that seven or eight players from the African Championship team will be in the Super Eagles that will face the Egyptians.
