Aminu Ogwuche, the suspected mastermind behind the Nyanya bomb attack, has been freed by a federal court in Abuja on Monday, 24 November.

The court, which based its decision on a lack of assiduous prosecution by the state, has struck out a two-count terrorism charge against Ogwuche.

Ogwuche was repatriated from Sudan, where he fled to after the bombing of the park, which killed not less than 75 people.

The bombing of Nanya park took place in April 2014, at the wee hours of the day as residents were heading out to work.

On Saturday, 22 November, the bodies of over 20 victims of the Nyanya bomb blasts were given a mass burial in an undisclosed location in Abuja.

  2. Shame on Nigeria’s courts, especially federal high courts. Look at this suspect so called Ogwuche, commited big atrocity which looms about 70 lives. Unfutinately, federal court now set him free. “ WHAT’S THE MEANING OF THIS?” This happean should discourage all Nigerian securities, on their war to against terrorism. Shame on Nigerian court, Shame on presidency.

  3. May God pay him appropriate recompense.
