One half of Psquare, Peter Okoye has defended why he signed a solo endorsement deal to be the face of Olympic Milk.
Fans of the pair had wondered why for the first time since their inception, Paul Okoye was excluded from a business arrangement, which saw his twin brother become brand ambassador for the Nutricima dairy product.
In response to the growing speculations and conspiracy theorists, at his unveiling as the face of Olympic milk, Peter gave an explanation that will only prompt more questions.
He said, “Music is like football. For example, if I play for Barcelona and I get endorsed by Nike, it doesn’t mean the whole Barcelona team has been endorsed. This is about me and not me and Paul.”
“Among thousands or perhaps millions of people in the entertainment industry, I felt honoured to be chosen as the brand ambassador. The deal means a lot, not just to me but also to my fans. If a brand isn’t worth it I have nothing to do with such a brand. The fact that I am ready to work with this brand is an indication of its top quality,” Peter added.
It’s hard to see many artistes who work harder than the singing duo, Psquare.
Peter, one half of the talented group confirms that sentiment as he goes baack to performing only days after sustaining a leg injury on stage. He got injured at the Beat FM Triple 9 concert after stepping too close to the edge of the platform.
He posted a video on his Instagram page telling his over 170,000 followers he’s back for good.
“No stopping me meeeeen!…. Am bak for good! #soundcheck #fit #WeTakeItAllAroundTheWorld #worldtour #dubai #meydan #concert #live.”
So last night, Peter Okoye, one half of Pop duo Psquare, fell off stage while performing at the concert.
The Pop duo were performing ‘Bring it on’, a song off their new album ‘Double Trouble’ when Peter Okoye apparently stepped too close to the centre edge of the five-foot elevated stage and fell off. He tumbled and landed on the floor, hitting his back against the protective metal barricades used to shield fans from the stage.
The singer was immediately helped back up by the stage bouncers. Okoye bounced back on stage and continued performing like nothing happened. He is however believed to have sustained a hand injury.
Immediately after his performance, Okoye took to his Instagram to tell his friends about his unexpected mishap.
‘“I fell off on stage and it wasn’t funny… Like we said” keep ur head up high and standing tall… I will surely bring it on” #sadFace #headingToTheHospital love u all!”
He also shared the photo above with the caption “What defines us is how well we rise after falling… I’m human,I’m not perfect. But I’m thankful. I knw I will be fine b4 my next concert dis weekend in Congo Lubumbashi,Dubai …… Thanks peeps.“
Once upon a time, the biggest R&B group in Nigeria was made up of Zeal, Tunde and Shifi, the trio that make up the band, Styl Plus.
At some point, their singles, ‘Olufunmi and Runaway’, were the biggest songs in the country, and it seemed like they would never cease to leave the limelight.
Right now, they are nowhere to be found and Peter of P-square, was feeling recently feeling nostalgic, and shared an Instagram photo of the trio on his Twitter account. He added the caption , “Just saw one der videos… To be honest, dis guys are so talented. still missing dis wonderful group till date… #styl-Plus.”
In August 2012, the group made a brief comeback with the single, ‘Alive’, which featured rapper, Sunky. Ever since, they haven’t released any material.
Just like Peter, many of their fans are also missing them.
