Wizkid Saeon

“I made her a hit song! Abi, I no try?” – Watch Wizkid take Saeon apart

by Kolapo Olapoju

In this new video, Wizkid has responded to the recent reports of acrimony towards him by singer, Saeon, and producer/artiste, Samklef.

On Samklef, he said, “Come on, he was in my house two weeks ago. We are always together, so i really dont understand what is going on here, but its all love. I’ve got love for Samklef all day. He’s that kind of person that even if he hurts me, i can’t get mad. That’s how much i’ve got love for the guy.”

Meanwhile, when asked about Seaon, he had no such love for her. Wizkid shrugged and said, “They just told me about that one upstairs. I just heard that one now.” In a bullish tone, he added, “I did what i was called to do and got her a hits song. Abi, i no try?”

I rolled with with International artistes, but I’ve not changed my style – Wizkid

by Damilola Jagun

During a recent media parley for the Hennessy Artistry, Wizkid talked a bit about his sophomore album, ‘Ayo(Joy)’.

According to the Starboy honcho, ‘Jaiye Jaiye’, his highly successful collaboration with Afrobeat icon, Femi Kuti, was one which put him on his toes, and made him want to give his best delivery. He also expressed his initial uncertainty on the kind of reception it would get from fans.

Wizkid said, “When I made jaiye jaiye, I didn’t know people were ready to accept the song, so I needed something to make it really special. I called Femi Kuti for a collaboration and almost immediately, he agreed. I was shocked. I had to go back to the studio that night to re-do the song so he wouldn’t be disappointed. We recorded it the next day and it was a successful.”

He also said stated that he endeavoured to stick to his original style, despite associating and mingling with foreign artistes over the last 12 months, while adding that the album is loved by everyone.

“Everybody is loving the tracks and are discovering new songs on the album even though I had put out about seven of the songs on it. When I was making this album, I was trying to make a conscious decision not to change my style because people were beginning to think I would change my style since I started rolling with international artistes, Wizkid added.

After its release on 17 September, the record ranked at number 99 on the top 100 albums on iTunes

Wizkid now charges N10 Million to feature on a song!!!

by Anike Jacobs

Wizkid has finally addressed all the ‘back-stabbing’ allegations levied against him and he is definitely not smiling!

His former Producer, Samklef had recently criticized him, saying that fame has gotten into his head, making him to forget his roots while upcoming female singer, Saeon alleged that she paid him the sum of N1.5 million for a feature and he couldn’t even give her a shout out.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Wizkid addressed the issues.
On Saeon, he said  “It was strictly work. When did we even start talking that we should be friends like that? She came to me, no not me directly, to my Manager and asked for a collabo. Normally, I don’t charge my friends but she came with some cash and I gladly obliged. I even gave her 10 percent discount. That is a very generous move, because it took her a month to get my attention. After that, it’s back to our separate lives. We are not friends.”
He also added that he now charges way more for collaborations.

‘I charge N10M for collaboration but I don’t charge the people I love.‘I don’t pay for collaborations because I’m confident of myself.’…

On Samklef,  he said  “He came to my house two weeks ago. My house is a party house for Guys and Sam was in my house. So i don’t know where all this came from,” he said.
