Former Super Eagles defender, Taribo West is getting support from former Inter Milan club doctor, Piero Volpi, on the discrepancy over his age when he joined Partizan Belgrade in 2002.

Former Partizan Belgrade club chief, Zarco Zecevic, had reportedly accused West of lying about his age claiming to be 28 when he was actually about 40 years old then.

West joined Partizan from the German Bundesliga side, Kaiserslautern.

Volpi, who was the club doctor when West was at Milan club said the former Nigerian international couldn’t have shaved more than two or three years from his age, that is if he actually did.

“No, it’s impossible. Taribo may have been born in 1972 and not in 1974 and have removed two years, three at the most, but twelve is impossible’’, said Volpi.

He maintained that West had the strength of a 26 year old when he joined the club.

Even the club coach at Inter during the Taribo years, Gigi Simone, supports Volpi’s claim saying twelve years is far too many.

Simone said, “Taribo,if he did may have taken a couple of years but twelve are too many,” said the Inter former coach.

Taribo had discredit Zecevic’s claim calling you a confused man.
