TechCabal and Access Bank present AfricaBeta: Fixing online payments

TechCabal, Africa’s largest tech online publication, is announcing the second edition of AfricaBeta, in partnership with Access Bank.

The event is scheduled to hold on the 12th of December, 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.

AfricaBeta is a conference that will explore the ideas and technologies that are shaping the future of the African continent.

The aim is to showcase the companies and individuals that are pushing the frontier, influencing how Africans experience a life in which technology has become essential.

The second edition of Africabeta is an interactive discussion about why online payments remain a challenge for Nigerian developers and merchants in 2015 as well as the proposed means to fixing the problems.

The event will also be an opportunity to experience, first-hand, Access Bank’s award-winning payments product, Pay With Capture.

Speaking on the upcoming event and the partnership with TechCabal, Mr. Gbenga Agboola, Access Bank’s Chief Innovation Officer said,

“Access Bank is happy to be part of this event with TechCabal. TechCabal is the authoritative source for startups and technology news and analysis in Nigeria and we’re happy to collaborate with them.”

“Over the past decade, we’ve watched ecommerce emerge and evolve in Nigeria, and rather than watch from the sidelines, Access Bank is taking an active role. Payments is a field that we are best positioned to add value by virtue of our standing as a financial institution, but most importantly because we are bullish on the future of internet-enabled retail and business in Nigeria. We’re looking forward to enabling the next generation of developers and merchants.”

Bankole Oluwafemi, Editor in Chief of TechCabal also said,

“The subject of payments is one that TechCabal has covered extensively since it began to publish in 2013, and we’re rather excited to be taking that conversation offline, engaging real people with the real issues of making money in Nigeria’s expanding technology and internet business landscape.”

Entry to Africabeta is free, but attendance will be secured by registration. Full event details are available at Africabeta.co.
