A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for stabbing a 6-year-old boy to death.
According to the police in Bauchi, the suspect, Abubakar Abdullahi murdered Lukam Yusuf over N500.
Police spokesperson, DSP Haruna Mohammed disclosed that Abubakar was arrested after he intercepted the boy, who was sent by his parents with the N500 note to buy firewood in Runtum village in Nabordo District of Toro LGA.
He reportedly snatched the money and stabbed the boy with a knife on his neck and stomach, after which police detectives attached to Toro Division rushed to the scene and the boy was rushed to a hospital where he was certified dead.
Mohammed added that the case is being investigated, while advising parents to desist from sending kids with money in order not to expose them to danger and also keep dangerous objects such as knives, cutlasses and sticks away from the reach of children.
