Arnold Schwarzenegger showed off his unique sense of fashion on Saturday as he strode out of his New York City hotel wearing a pair of blindingly blue shoes.

The 65-year-old put a bit of spring in his step as he was accompanied by an entourage as he walked out of the Ritz Carlton.

The former Governor of California even made sure his sleek slip-ons coordinated with his outfit, wearing a matching blue leather belt and powder blue shirt.

The Austrian body builder kept on trend as he lightly carried his navy blazer over his right shoulder, showing off a meteor-sized silver star ring and a patriotic American flag bracelet.

Carrying a freshly lit cigar in one hand, the bright sun only helped to magnify his daring fashion choice.

The shoes blared from beneath his pleated khakis as he continued with his stroll down trendy Madison Avenue.

He completed his retro look with a pair of mid-century inspired sunglasses.

Arnold made the best of his Big Apple trip, including taking a moment to stop listen to a man playing the bag pipes on a street corner.

He shared a Vine of the moment with the caption: ‘This is why I love New York.’

Later in the evening the Total Recall star joined fellow Republican Donald Trump as he presented an award at the World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Fame ceremony.

The two posed alongside wrestling legends Triple H and Bruno Sammarino, whom he later inducted during the event.

‘Never know who you’ll run unto,’ he caption of the famous foursome.

And while he spent his time behind the podium at the event, he shared a backstage snap showcasing his new favourite blue shoes.

The East Coast trip will be a short lived one for Arnie, who is set to touchdown in Los Angeles by Monday for an appearance at the University of Southern California.

The actor-turned-politician will be hosting a forum on climate change along with scientists at the USC Schwarzenegger Institute for State and Global Policy, of which he is the chairman.

The institute was funded by a gift from Arnold, as well as a commitment to raise an endowment.

The college is also home to his 19-year-old son Patrick, who is studying business administration and entrepreneurship at the Marshall School of Business.

Daughter Katherine, 23, also attended the university, following in her mother Maria Shriver’s footsteps by earning a degree from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.

The couple separated in 2011 after 25 years of marriage amid revelations that Schwarzenegger had fathered a son with a household employee.

He recently reunited with his ex in the first time in an almost a year as they enjoyed Easter dinner together with their children in Santa Monica.
