A 14-year-old boy simply identified as Mayowa was killed in a gun fight on Saturday night between  Mission road and Ugbagwe axis of Benin City, an area known to habour commercial sex workers.

The incident was confirmed by the Public relations officer of the state police command, Moses Eguavoen, adding that investigation has commenced over the killing.

It was gathered that the late Mayowa was recently recruited into the Aiye confraternity and became involved when a fight broke out between his cult group and a rival group and it was in the ensuing shooting spree that he was killed.

According to a source, the gun battle between the cult groups which lasted about 10 minutes, occurred at about 9 p.m and forced commercial sex workers in the vicinity to scamper for safety.
