The activities of a robbery gang comprising two teenagers and one man in his twenties have been quashed by police in Cross River.

Edem Bassey Effiong, 18, Emmanuel Nkalu 19 and Aliyu Umaru 21,were said to have formed the habit of donning army camouflage while carrying out their illicit acts.

The trio were said to have continually terrorized residents of the Basin Development Authority in Calabar, the state capital, until their capture.

Parading them alongside other suspects, the Cross River State Police Commissioner Mr Kola Sodipo said the sum of 350,000.00 and 250,000 naira worth of recharge after they robbed one Ime Stephen who sells recharge cards at Basin Development Authority, Calabar at gun point.

”They robbed Imeh Stephen of Basin Authority at gun point of recharge cards valued at 250,000.00, and cash of 350,000.00 naira ; in their possession during the arrest were a pistol 7 live ammunition, Army Uniform, recharge cards and handsets”.
