Terrible: Man stabs friend to death with broken bottle after minor argument

Bricklayer, Taiwo Abisoye has appeared in court for killing his friend, Gabriel Abutu with a broken bottle during an argument after drinking alcohol.

The deceased also a bricklayer was stabbed in the neck at the Adamo bus stop via Ikorodu, Lagos and , Abisoye is now in prison custody pending trial.

The Ebute-Meta Magistrate’s Court heard how the suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased with a broken bottle which led to his death.

According to reports, the police said Abisoye confessed to the crime and was arrested with exhibits.

The charge sheet read in part, “That you, Taiwo Adesoye,m, on the 25th day of June, 2013 at Adamo bus stop via Ikorodu, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Gabriel Abutu,m, aged 21 years by stabbing him on his neck with a broken bottle and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.”

The Punch reports:

The defendant’s plea was not taken.

The prosecutor, Etim Nkankuk, applied that the defendant be remanded in line with Section 264 of the Administration of Criminal Justice of Lagos State.

The magistrate, Mrs. Aje Afunwa, ruled that Abisoye be remanded in prison custody pending the advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.

The matter was adjourned till August 16.
