Sanusi Sa’adu, a middle aged man who resides in Nasarawa Village, Kaduna South Local Government Area, has accused Amina Muhktar of causing bodily harm on his wife, Asiya Sanusi.

Muhkar was said to have poured hot water on the victim who had come to fetch water in her house. The victim sustained serious injuries on her breast and arms and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility.

Mr Martins Egboche, counsel to the accused, had sought for her bail but was not granted in view of the gravity of the offence, and consequently, the presiding Chief Magistrate, Hamza Mohammed, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody pending when the case will be heard.

The judge adjourned the case to the 24th September, 2014 for hearing.
