The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba has disclosed that there would be no restriction of movements across the country today except in areas where voting is postponed till today, Sunday, March 29, 2015.

Abba disclosed this moments ago while speaking on a ChannelsTV magazine program tagged Nigeria2015.

“There is no restriction of movement all over the country so citizens can go about their lawful duties but security will remain high in areas that voting will be taking place,” Abba said.

When asked if the Police Force envisage that the voting will spill over till today, which happens to be a Christian Palm Sunday celebration, the police boss answered in the negative.

He said the Force did not envisage the spillover but they are ready and capable of providing security wherever voting will be taking place all around the country.

“We didn’t envisage that the election will spill over till the next day but you know that policing is a 24- hour duty so we shall continue to do our best in maintaining security all over the country… especially in areas where voting will be taking place” he assured.

Elections were rescheduled by INEC in select local governments areas in the country.
