One of the few veterans who have made their mark in the Nigerian movie industry is Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD. With a career spanning almost two decades, RMD still remains relevant in the industry.

  1. Asides being an actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo is also a lawyer. In 1997 Mofe-Damijo returned to the university to study law at the University of Lagos and graduated in 2004. He had earlier studied Theatre arts at the University of Benin.
  2. He was once the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta. RMD was appointed in 2009.
  3. Richard Mofe-Damijo was once a reporter. He had a stint with Concord newspapers and Metro Magazine in the 80s.
  4. RMD has been married twice. Mofe-Damijo was married to the late May Ellen Ezekiel, a foremost Nigerian journalist popularly known as MEE. After MEE’s death in 1996, Mofe-Damijo married again, this time to former Jumoke Adegbesan. He has five children in total; four from his current marriage and one from his previous marriage with MEE.
