D’banj was reportedly attacked by thugs last Saturday, at Tin Can Port, Lagos.
The entertainer had shown up for a video shoot, in a Toyota RAV 4, when he got mobbed by local touts in the neighborhood.
The Sun reports that after seeing D’banj, the area boys numbering over 50, requested for cash settlement, and then proceeded to deflate his tyres.
D’banj, was said to have alighted from his car and took them to an ATM where he withdrew some money to settle them.
The thugs were also said to have stripped him of his wristwatch, shoes and other jewelry.
As much as this may have been an actual heist, a fan who couldn’t believe D’banj was in her neighborhood, was more excited than worried about the artiste.
“I’m so excited, D’banj came to Tin Can Island to shoot a video and guys saw him. They burst his tires and held him hostage. He had to embrace every one of them and later he took them to an ATM where he withdrew some cash for them and shared among them. I love D’banj; it’s good to be a star.”
