The Thread: CBN, are you doing Black Friday sales on dollars? | Our top 10 tweets of the week

Twitter is a gold mine of hilarity, brilliance, knowledge, social and political issues, so we thought it would be selfish to keep all these goodies to ourselves.

This week in Twitter-land, Jimoh Ibrahim and Fani-Kayode engaged in some heavy dressing down; it is a must read. We also learnt the art of clapbacks from these other folks.

Yesterday, 25th November, we celebrated the International Day to End Violence Against Women yesterday, and it was marked with women on social media sharing their stories of public harassment, particulary in Yaba. What’s maddening about these stories is that other women (bystanders, witnesses) shamed the victims, instead of their attackers. Being defenceless sucks.

Oh, and the Godfather himself (OBJ pimping) gave Uncle Bubu a good talking to, after which our Honourables slapped him with a label: “Most corrupt Person Ever.” Talk about pots and kettles.

On the International front, Thanksgiving/Black Friday happened and Nigerians got in on the craze; Hillary Clinton’s been mopping up those votes and now wants to go for a recount. And the revolutionalist and freedom fighter, the one who cannot be put in a box, Fidel Castro has died. His death was met with mixed reactions. What’s definite is the role he played in the emancipation of Africa.

See below our best tweets from the week (and they don’t all have to do with the topics above):
