Ibrahim Magu, Acting chairman of the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has been rejected by the Senate to assume the role of Chairman of the EFCC at the confirmation hearing which held yesterday. This is the second time the Senate is rejecting Magu, whose nomination came from Buhari.
Whilst Buhari claimed that Magu had been cleared by the DSS (seeing as they had handed down a letter of indictment the first time around upon which the Senate rejected Magu), the Senate claimed they’d received a fresh letter from the DSS that stated Magu failed ‘the integrity test’. It was quite the bizarre confirmation, which raised lots of questions from citizens.
In the end, it was a case of cabal versus cabal and the cabal with the most powers won (or is it the most fibs?). Did anyone really think the confirmation would sail through seamlessly when Magu has 11 of the Senators on hook for corruption? Oh, well, here’s what Twitter NG thinks:
The Fear of Magu… Lol

…is the beginning of rejection.
Hameed Ali does not want Customs' uniform.
The Senate does not want Magu in EFCC.
PMB should just swap the two guys.
Problem solved.

Simples.
you have a personal problem with magu because the way you talked shows you are angry with that man but just be careful
— divine enyiagba (@divilo2) March 16, 2017
Dino, you hear?
#freshlypressed981 Magu's timidity & incoherence cost him his job. FWIW he looked too incompetent to be trusted with such responsibility
— D'geniero™ (@Ini_Boss) March 16, 2017
Simple how much has been recovered by EFCC, he had no clue.
Nigeria is divided over Magu's rejection in the subservient nightmare of Vanguard. Hallucinating reportage.

Opinions. Opinions.
The forces after Magu are outside the DSS
Stop discussing what you know nothing about
Stop ✴ Think ✴ Think again ✴ then speak
Thank you

Soft work by village winches. Oga Magu, you might want to consider appeasing the gods.
11 senators are being investigated for corruption and they have to "confirm" the man in charge of investigating them?
— Stephanie Hegarty (@stephhegarty) March 15, 2017
Wickid, innit?
There's NOTHING in that DSS letter…i repeat, NOTHING in that letter that should stop Magu
Stop thinking 1+1=2 in politics
That's naivity
— Tunde Eneji (@iameneji) March 16, 2017
If you say so.
Magu's second rejection by @NGRSenate raises some political questions but more importantly, it questions the Integrity of some in this Govt.
— Demola Olarewaju (@DemolaRewaju) March 15, 2017
That it does. That it does.
If we agreed DSS was good enough to raid home of a supreme court justice, why doubt its ability to determine if Magu is fit for EFCC?

Different strokes, man.
When it comes to Magu, everybody loves and believe in DSS.
But on Judges and others?

We eat our cake and have it. Deal with it.
Nigerian Senate!
APC 60 Members
PDP 49 Members
Magu: Nominated by APC Party leader and President.
Question: Who rejected Magu?
— Mikk beamer (@junayo101) March 15, 2017
Teaser alert!
Any EFCC leader that's very likeable by all arms of government is a sellout. Good sign many politicians don't like Magu
— Hypophyseal Fossa (@Mzseaun) March 15, 2017
For real?
Magu must be doing something right by Nigerians for him to not be our politicians' favorite
— Hypophyseal Fossa (@Mzseaun) March 15, 2017
How’ bout that?
The problem isn't the Senate as an institution, the problem is the quality of citizens YOU and I elected into the Senate. It's that simple!
— Gimba Kakanda (@gimbakakanda) March 15, 2017
This, too.
I don’t know how much we’ve recovered from looters –Magu
I don't know the total debt of Nigeria -Udo Udoma
These are Buhari's employees ?
