Today marks the celebration of International Peace Day – a day set aside by the United Nations General Assembly to strengthen “the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples”.
This year’s theme; ‘Sustainable Development Goals: Building Blocks for Peace’, might seem like a tall order particularly in these days of random bombings as well as long drawn out wars in places like Yemen, Syria, Libya, and even in our own backyard by Boko Haram, but Mr. Fowowe, who tweets @praisefowewe, attempts to simplify it for us – first the individual, the family, and then the world.
Kindly see below:
1. Once upon a time there was peace on the planet as humanity lived together as once in a garden #WorldPeaceDay

2. Those were the days when there was no religion or tribe or race. Humanity spoke with one voice and stuck together #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
3. All humanity had was a family and that family lived as a team with clear cut systems and boundaries #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
4. But someone stepped out of the boundary of peace by activating the seed of chaos and peace left in peace #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
5. Since then mankind has been looking for peace creating all sorts of interventions yet peace has eluded our world #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
7. We have postulated all sorts of theories and experimented with all sorts of leaders yet peace is absent #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
8. One question we however haven't answered is the role our various families played in creating this world #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
10. When an improperly engineered woman gets married to a peaceful man that still water becomes troubled #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
11. A peaceful man getting married to a peaceful woman will eventually produce a peaceful home and society #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
12. The production factory of the society is your family and that's the source of chaos and peace #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
13. It's time to stop complaining about our society and take responsibility for the peace of our world #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
14. Chaos was learnt and promoted by us and peace can be learnt and created by us #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
15. It starts with our refusal to categorize people along the divides of race and religious segregation #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
16. Peace is restored when we all accept the fact that though we are many with different beliefs we are all God's creation #WorldPeaceDay
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
17. When we accept that fact we will begin to focus on our similarities and join hands to defeat a common enemy #worldpeaceday
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
18. Once we achieve that then the lion and the lamb will dwell together on God's Holy mountain without hurting each other #worldpeaceday
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
19. The moment we all commit to a world of "no gossip" and "no discrimination" everyone will experience a peaceful world #worldpeaceday
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
21. And let the peace starts from your family by seeing everyone as man made in God's image #worldpeaceday
— praise fowowe (@praisefowowe) September 21, 2016
I honour you #worldpeaceday

When we look at peace through his eyes, it does not seem like such a tall order anymore.
Happy International Peace Day.
