Nicki Minaj was most notably known for being one of the first — if not THE first — female rappers to openly discuss her bisexuality. In 2010, Details interviewed her asking if she, an openly bisexual rapper, thought Hip-Hop would get more “gay –friendly.” She answered the question saying: “I think the world is getting more gay-friendly, so hip-hop is too. But it’s harder to imagine an openly gay male rapper being embraced. People view gay men as having no street credibility. But I think we’ll see one in my lifetime.”

She was also caught on video saying she wanted to have a threesome with actress and mother of  one of Lil Wayne’s sons, Lauren London and P. Diddy’s girlfriend, Cassie in 2010. Inevitably she was photographed walking hand-in-hand with Cassie, which heightened speculation that they were dating; however, in her latest interview with Rolling Out, the rapper reveals she dates men. “I think girls are sexy,” she says. “But I’m not going to lie and say that I date girls.” The rapper reveals she only branded herself as bisexual to attract media attention. Many believe the video has been snatched from the internet ever since.

Yesterday, Nicki Minaj made headlines when she claimed to be a Republican in a song on Lil Wayne’s recent mixtape and endorsed presidential candidate Mitt Romney. A slew of fans slammed her for being a “sell out” or even funnier, an “auntie tom,” for citing that “lazy b*tches” are the reason for the down economy. While some speculate Nicki Minaj’s endorsement was for entertainment purposes only, earlier this year the rapper challenged President Obama about healthcare via Twitter. The pop-star was apparently saddened and frustrated by the death of Yvette Wilson, actress on “Moesha” and “The Parkers,” in which sources close to the actress said she’d depleted her finances on medications and treatments for cancer.
