TICKER: Tragedy: Bride plunges to death at waterfalls after wedding

A Canadian woman drowned not long after her wedding day while she was taking photos near a waterfall.

The 30 year old woman’s name has yet to be disclosed because not all her family members have been notified about her tragic death. She fell into the Ouareau River near Dorwin Falls.

The bride slipped and fell into the river which is north of Montreal,  all dressed in her wedding gown for the photo-shoot. The unnamed woman’s body was found a few hours later.

Before the bride fell into what was described as “violent” waters, she is reported to have yelled out that she was slipping. Sgt. Ronald McInnis, a Quebec provincial police spokesman, said the site from which the bride fell was rocky and elevated, overlooking the gushing river.

Speaking to Mail Online Sgt. McInnis said,“She was doing the photo shoot in about 6 inches or 1-foot of water when part of her wedding dress got soaked and became extremely heavy. She started slipping and falling down when the photographer grabbed her but she was too heavy that he couldn’t pull her from the edge. Another person tried to grab her but also was unable to save her from falling into the river.”

The woman who was from a small island near Montreal was later found by a civilian who is also a diver and is familiar with the area and the river.

Two people who saw her fall were reportedly treated at a nearby hospital for shock. The pair who suffered from shock are believed to be the photographer and an assistant.

According to Sgt. McInnes,  the bride’s fiance was not at the photo shoot because it was done after the fact. The couple actually got married on June 9 and had waited to get her wedding photos taken later.

The bride’s family have refused to speak to any media.
