Sylva promises ‘enjoyment’ in Bayelsa, as Dickson loses 2 key aides

Governorship elections in Nigeria is a game of numbers, and money- according to Balarabe Musa.

He who has the most support and the most money, most often emerges winner in any contest.

Hence, Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, will be far from pleased, as two of his key aides have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

The defectors are: Furoebi Akene, Commissioner for Lands and Survey, who recently resigned, and Apreala Pereladei, who’s the governor’s Special Representative to Southern Ijaw.

The pair defected on Saturday, November 21, when the APC governorship candidate, Timipre Sylva, visited the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, to campaign.

Sylva and Dickson will go head-to-head in the governorship polls of Bayelsa state, on December 5.

While addressing supporters at the local government area, Sylva promised them that the APC was coming into power to change their lives from poverty to wealth.

Sylva said: “Oporoma people, Southern Ijaw people, if you want development and progress, it is APC. The opposition party is dead. We have buried it in Abuja. We will also bury it in Bayelsa.

“On December 5, vote for me and my deputy. After victory, we will sit down and look at how to bring peace to Bayelsa, companies will come, and there will be jobs and enjoyment.”
