Tiwa Savage takes another shot at acting

Away from her battles at home, Tiwa Savage who recently went back to work, is trying her hands at acting, again.

The Mavin singer who starred in the season 3 of the MTV-produced series Shuga, is set to appear in comic series – Jenifa’s Diary.

On Wednesday night, Funke Akindele who is the executive producer and lead actress on the show, revealed that Tiwa was going to be on season 6 of the show.

Falz – another music star – who appeared in season 5 of the comedy series scooped the best actor in the comedy category award at the AMVCA in March.

Who knows? Maybe an AMVCA nomination or even a win might be on the cards for the If I start to Talk singer.

Chocolate City and Milli part ways

After the unending speculation, Afro-trap singer, Milli has left Chocolate City.

This was confirmed in an Instagram post from the music label as it wished him success in moving on.

Milli first caught our attention with his efforts on MI Abaga’s ‘Chairman’ album which got him signed to the rapper’s Loopy Music in January 2015.

He then became a Choc City boy when the franchise merged with Loopy music in mid-2015.

However, rumours of a dispute between the label and Milli arose after the release of his Childish EP was delayed.

Jackson family to set up a music academy in Lagos

The Jackson family has revealed plans to set up a music academy in Lagos.

Jermaine Jackson, a member of the family and brother to late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, disclosed this when he was in Lagos last weekend for the Lagos International Jazz festival.

While on a courtesy visit to the office of the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, Jermaine said a plan was in the offing to establish the Jackson Academy Performing Art School in the state.

“There is a lot of great talents here and we want to use our 50 years of experience in being in the business to teach the arts. We want to construct the Jackson Academy Performing Art School here.”

“It will have a curriculum and also will teach music, directing, film, lightening, producing, dancing and so on. We want to get the talents here ready for the global market. I do believe that the drums and the beat started from here.”

Janet Jackson and billionaire hubby expecting a baby

American singer, Janet Jackson is getting an early 50th birthday present as ET reports infer that the singer is pregnant with her first child.

The 49-year-old singer, who turns 50 on May 16, announced in early April that she will be postponing her tour to start a family with billionaire husband – Wissam Al Mana.

Jackson and Al Mana got married in a secret ceremony in 2012, – which was the singer’s third marriage – but didn’t confirm it until early 2013.

Following the baby news, Janet Jackson has released a music video for her new single – Dammn Baby off the album – Unbreakable.
