Today’s Daily Brief: APC says Fayose hasn’t done anything in Ekiti, Okonjo-Iweala hits back at Soludo, Cambridge Assessment confirms Buhari’s WASC result, and more

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of having no achievements to show for his 100 days in office.

The party accused Fayose of claiming several projects executed by his predecessor, Kayode Fayemi, while saying his 100 days as governor has been a “celebration of fortunes reversal”.

The opposition party made the comments through a statement released by the APC State Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatubosun, on Wednesday, January 28.

For anyone who has not read Professor Charles Soludo’s article in the Vanguard (online version) on January 25 2015, I would encourage them to do so. It is littered with abusive and unbecoming language. It shows how an embittered loser in the Nigerian political space can get so derailed that they commit intellectual harakiri by deliberately misquoting economic facts and maliciously turning statistics on their head to justify a hatchet job. We hope all the intellectuals in the international circles in which Professor Soludo has told us he flies around in will read what a Professor of Economics has chosen to do with his intellect.

Muhammadu Buhari’s secondary school result has been validated by Cambridge Assessment.

Cambridge Assessment, formerly known as University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, (UCLES), despite not releasing the result of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, has instead put up a post on its website confirming the one obtainable.

The details of the released post is similar to the one released by Buhari’s secondary school in Katsina.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday said he refused to concentrate development in the South-South geopolitical zone because of his resolve to ensure the equitable distribution of resources across the country.

Jonathan, who spoke during the presidential rally of the Peoples Democratic Party at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Igwuruta-Ali, Ikwerre Local Government of Rivers State, promised to develop his South-South region if elected for a second term in office.

The President was reacting to the criticism by the Rivers State Governor and the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, that he (Jonathan) had not done anything for Rivers and Bayelsa states.
