Today’s Daily Brief: Buhari boasts, APC divided, and more

President Muhammadu Buhari still reiterates on his commitment to kill corruption, he pledges that his administration would kill corruption.

Buhari, who said this on Monday at the AU summit, the government is determined to secure the country, manage the economy, create employment and fight corruption.


 

Apparently, the crisis in the All Progressive Congress (APC) is growing deeper than we thought and this as made the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, Timi Frank, to call for the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun.

His call is simply because he felt the leadership of the party tried to manipulate the process that led to the emergence of Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara as Senate President and Speaker.


 

Still on the All Progressive Congress (APC), former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said that the crisis in the National Assembly has led to a division within the party. He also stated that the party underrated the power of the G5 governors in deciding on those that should vie for top positions in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.

 


The Association of Resident Doctors, Lagos University Teaching Hospital chapter, Idi-Araba, Lagos has begun a three-day warning strike over the non- reversal of the skipping policy for doctors working at the hospital.

They are against the stopping of the skipping policy by the hospital management, a privilege that is given to other health workers and as such embarked on the strike threatening to go on a full scale action.
