Tolu Ogunlesi livetweets GEJ’s fiery speech – all you need to know right here (TWEETS)

Like never before, President Goodluck Jonathan went hard at his opponents during the campaign rally of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos, on Thursday, January 8.

Speaking without the aid of a prepared speech and without mentioning names, Jonathan managed to take subliminal shots at the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari and the opposition party itself.

The President said his address is meant specifically for “first time voters”, aged between 18 and 23, saying: “I’m focusing on the young people.”

Award winning journalist and social media influencer, Tolu Ogunlesi live-tweeted key points from Jonathan’s speech as seen below:

“Ask them when they were in government, did they build nursery schools for anybody? I built University, built secondary schools, primary schools for you.”

“They have hired some people from outside this country to go on social media to be spreading lies.”

“Any country that does not obey rule of law is a jungle. They said to be strong is to jail people indiscriminately.”

“When he was Head of Govt did he buy one rifle for the Nigerian Army… Ask them what they did with the defence budget.”

“There are some people who put our fathers who were abroad in crates, and tried to bring them home, until they were intercepted.”

“They want power at all costs. All they want to use power for is to lock up their enemies. I have no enemies to fight.”

“When you were head of Govt you had a cabinet. I have the list with me. There was no single woman there. Not even one woman.”

“Your generation will take Nigeria to the moon. Look at India… My generation has failed, we didn’t take Nigeria to the moon.”

Any country that does not obey rule of law is a jungle… They said to be strong is to jail people indiscriminately…”
