The Punch reports:

Head of Operation, Iruekpen Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. John Omokandugba, said the accident was caused by dangerous overtaking by the Toyota bus.

He said, “Four persons including two men and two women, who were occupants of the Toyota Siena, with registration number USL 111 AE, died in the accident.”

Omokandugba said the truck loaded sand dust from Auchi, and was heading for Elele, in Rivers State, when the accident occurred.

He said, “The accident was as a result of speeding. The light rain showers equally contributed.”
