Tragic: 2 JAMB candidates die in Ondo car accident

Two candidates who sat for Saturday’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) died in an accident involving three vehicles in Ondo State.

The victims were reportedly coming from Offa, Kwara State before meeting their end around Owo-Ikare in Ondo.

Reports say the tragic crash involved three vehicles, a tipper, a Nissan car and a Peugeot J5 bus.

It was learnt that the tipper overtook the Peugeot J5 vehicle while trying to negotiate a bend before ramming into the Nissan  car conveying the candidates.

Samuel Ibitoye, Head of Operations of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ikare Akoko confirmed the tragic accident.

According to him, three others sustained injuries in the mishap and have been taken to Ikare Specialist Hospital to receive proper medical attention.

Ibitoye pointed out that the deceased candidates are yet to be identified.
