An elderly citizen of Ogun has been found dead in his apartment and is believed to have taken his own life.

The 70-year-old victim, identified simply as Baba Ijemo, was found dangling from the ceiling in his home in Abeokuta, the sttae capital.

The deceased lived alone and neighbours only discovered his body after it started decomposing and caused a stench.

Vanguard reports:

The septuagenarian father of seven, who lived in a room and parlour, was found dangling from the ceiling, following a stench from his apartment.

Vanguard gathered that the old man had in recent time reportedly been hostile to the neighbours and co-tenants for unknown reasons.

It was further gathered that the deceased was not living with any of his relatives and that his children had not visited him for a long time before the tragic incident.
