‘Trump is second most powerful person in the world’

Forbes Magazine on Wednesday named Russia’s Vladimir Putin as world’s most powerful person 2016 for a fourth straight time.

The Magazine named US President-elect, Donald Trump as the second most powerful person.

“Russia’s president has exerted his country’s influence in nearly every corner of the globe,” the magazine wrote.

“From the motherland to Syria to the US presidential elections, Putin continues to get what he wants.”

Forbes said Putin is “unconstrained by conventional global norms (and) his reach has magnified in recent years.”

On Trump, the magazine said he “has a seeming immunity to scandal, both houses of Congress on his side, and a personal net worth in the billions.”

Trump was listed 72nd in the 2015 ranking.

Outgoing US President who was 2nd last year ranked 48th as he prepares to vacate the oval office.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel ranks 3rd while China’s President Xi Jinping is 4th.
