US President elect, Donald Trump on Thursday had a meeting with outgoing President, Barack Obama at the Oval office.

Obama had invited Trump to the White House for discussions on transition after his victory.

The billionaire president-elect arrived at his soon-to-be home on Pennsylvania Avenue at roughly 11:00 am (1600 GMT), a US official said, for what may be an awkward meeting with Obama ahead of the January 20 inauguration.

Trump had been an unapologetic critic of Obama, once questioning the validity of his claim that he was born in America.

Obama had promised a seamless transition for Trump as he will be sworn in on January 20.
