Two men in NSA custody for arranging Nigerian visa for Lebanese terrorist

Two accomplices of Lebanese terrorist, Ahmed Al Assir, have been arrested by the Nigeria Immigration Service.

Al Assir was arrested at the airport while en route Cairo, Egypt, after obtaining a Nigerian visa in Beruit, Lebanon, on August, 2015.

Comptroller-General of Immigration, Martin Abeshi, said the two men who colluded with Al Assir to get a Nigerian visa, were apprehended in Kano.

Abeshi would also reveal that the arrested pair have been handed over to the National Security Adviser for further investigation.

He revealed this to journalists while responding to questions on Wednesday in Abuja.

“The Immigration service did not issue the visa to the Lebanese terrorist because we don’t have immigration officers at the embassy.

Maybe the visa was issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials or some other officials, but the moment we learnt about the incident, we identified the people the suspect was coming to visit in Kano and they were handed over to the NSA.”
