Ubertwitter app shut down!

Blackberry owners who enjoy a Tweet or two are not best pleased with Twitter officials who have blocked the popular UberTwitter app from being able to use it’s service from this evening (Friday).

A Twitter spokesperson claims that the UberTwitter app as well as the Android client Twidroid will not receive service due to violations to Twitter’s terms and conditions. Both apps are owned by Uber Media.

It is thought that the violations include UberTwitter’s ability to lengthen the maximum 140 character limit. The offending app also has the ability to monetize messages which is strictly forbidden within Twitter’s rule book.

These are indeed serious issues for the deleloper UberTwitter to contend with as the company currently processes around 20% of all daily tweets world-wide.

Millions of Blackberry owners have become unable to Tweet to their followers since the ban and the immediate future of the world’s most popular Twitter app appears to be in the hands of Twitter executives themselves.
