Uche Secondus may have just said everything wrong with Nigeria under APC

Former acting national Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus has described the administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by President Muhammadu Buhari, as an insincere government that has no clear solution for the teeming problems plaguing the country.

Secondus was earlier in the year arrested and detained by the Federal Government for allegedly receiving some cars on behalf of his party, the PDP, from a suspected treasury looter.

Following his continued detention, Secondus had obtained a court order directing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to pay him the sum of N10 million for illegally arresting and detaining him thereby infringing on his human rights.

Secondus, in a written statement, highlighted the basic issues reportedly wrong with the ruling party and the Federal Government.

He described the APC as a confused party ‘soaked in its own greed’ as well as a divided house that would soon fall.

“Today under APC leadership the country has become a whole theatre of acrimony with agitations here and there with no clear sign of solution in sight forcing political watchers to question if the country is disintegrating.”

“Even the Boko Haram issue that was supposed to be progressing well has run into troubled waters because of the confusion in the ruling party.”

“Ditto the federal Government’s anti corruption fight is even skewed due to insincerity as Ministers already confirmed to be corrupt internationally continue to move untouched while Governors with immunity are harassed daily.”

“Rather than confront the various challenges overwhelming the country, APC is currently bleeding soaked in its own greed and the obvious consequence is that a house divided against itself is bound to fall and the party is already falling.”

Secondus also stated that Buhari’s government has shown a blatant disregard for the rule of law and as such Nigerians are now afraid to speak up because of the “draconian system of our operatives who come after them for airing their views.”

The PDP chieftain condemned what he described as an “ongoing attempt to humiliate and intimidate the National Assembly,” noting that “as representatives of the people, the National Assembly remains the only bastion of democracy in the country.”
