UK National Crime Agency seizes £7,000 from Diezani’s mother

£5,000 and $2,000 were seized from Beatrice Agama, the mother of the former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, by the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency.

The former minister was arrested on Friday, alongside four other people by the International Corruption Unit of the UK’s National Crimes Agency.

Diezani’s case came up on Monday, October 5,  at the Westminster Magistrates Court, London.

Although Diezani was not physically present in court, her mother, Beatrice Agama and Melanie Spencer, were in court.

Apart from the money seized from Diezani’s mother, £10,000 was also reported to have been seized from Melanie Spencer, one of the other persons arrested in the case.

The UKNCA was said to have seized a cumulative amount of £27,000 (N8,155,164.37) in the case.
