US elections: Govt lawyers in talks with Abedin’s lawyers over newly discovered Clinton’s emails

The Justice Department and the FBI are in discussions with lawyers for Huma Abedin to seek approval to conduct a full search of the new Hillary Clinton’s emails found on her ex-husband, Anthony Weiner’s device, CNN reports.

The new emails were discovered during an investigation into illicit text messages between Anthony Weiner, a former congressman, and a 15-year-old girl.

Abedin who is one of Clinton’s closest aides had accessed her mail on Weiner’s device.

FBI director, James Comey had on Friday announced that fresh investigations may begin on the new Clinton emails.

CNN is reporting that the Justice Department are currently speaking with Abedin’s lawyers to determine if a search on the emails should be conducted.

Clinton on her part had called on the FBI to release immediately all information it has on the newly discovered emails.

“The American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately. It’s imperative that the bureau explain this issue in question, whatever it is, without any delay… I think people a long time ago made up their minds about the emails,” Clinton said.
