American R&B singer Usher Raymond broke down in tears today in an Atlanta court.

The singer just couldn’t bear the insinuation from his ex-wife’s lawyer that he was a bad dad who cared more about partying than about the welfare of his children.

Usher and his ex-wife Tameka Foster are locked in a custody battle for their kids. He was on the stand for several hours today, during which Tameka’s lawyer produced photos of Usher partying in Europe in February.

He was also questioned about his alleged drug use. While he admitted to smoking pot in the past, he claimed that he never did so in front of the kids.

Earlier, Usher had testified that his ex had attacked him when he showed up with his current girlfriend, and Foster flew into a rage.

According to TMZ

Usher testified Tameka walked to his car and said, “I’m gonna kick your ass. Bitch get out of the car. How dare you bring this woman into my subdivision in my house?”

He added, “She continued to spit. At this point she pulled the door open, tried to swing at her.”

Usher claims he had to get out of the car and block Tameka … who then hit him. Usher said he pleaded with Tameka to calm down, but claims “she threw a plate of food at the car” … as he fled the situation.

The trial continues tomorrow.
