The governor of Taraba state, Danbaba Suntai who survived a plane crash has been said to be suffering from a serious mental condition.

The ailing governor was recently visited by his deputy, Umar Garba, in a United States hospital where a clip showing the governor was obtained.

Reports say neurological doctors treating the governor have informed his family that the governor cannot return to normal state of mental health.

During the visit, Suntai, who did not utter a word, had a permanent grin on his face and was later aided back to his room by his wife.

In October 2012, he survived an air crash near Yola Airport and was flown to Germany for treatment for brain injuries.
