WATCH: 9 Years ago in the UK, I was a security, now I’m Oliver Twist – D’banj

by Abdullahi Aborede

And yes he’s an Entertainer! Our very own D’banj has really gone international, he’s not let the breakdown of the Mo’hits Empire affect his career and he’s been travelling from North America to the United Kingdom and back to Africa to ensure that African music is recognised worldwide.

After releasing his first record in the UK, ‘Oliver Twist’ on iTunes on 13 May, D’banj finally broke the deadlock and he’s now No. 9 on the UK national chart. Wow, what a feat!

Apparently the first home-based Nigerian to achieve this in decades, smells like fortune is not deserting the African Michael Jackson and we hope not.

He visited Plumstead Manor secondary school on Thursday and appeared on the ITV London news.

D’banj is really flying the Nigerian and African flags in places. God go make him bigger o.
