We don’t need UN, AU help to fight Boko Haram – Dasuki tells BBC

by James Sambo

During an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) on Friday, January 23, National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, said Nigeria does not need the help of the United Nations and the African Union to defeat the Boko Haram terrorist group.

According to Dasuki, Nigeria and her neighbouring countries,  were in a “good shape” to effectively tackle the insurgents.

He, however, admitted that the Islamic terrorist group, which has repeatedly terrorised the North-east in recent time, is  a “real security threat”.

Earlier on, Dasuki was at the Chatham House in London, where he stated that there was nothing wrong with postponing Nigeria’s general election.
