We will be tough on terrorism and its root causes || Buhari declares at Chatham House in London

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) appeared at the Chatham House on Thursday morning to discuss Prospects for Democratic Consolidation in Africa: Nigeria’s Transition.

The event which was chaired by former British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Sir Richard Gozney had many Nigerians in attendance including several APC stalwarts like Gov. Rotimi Amaechi and Adams Oshiomhole.

In his speech, Buhari spoke about the his plans to end the scourge of terrorism in the country declaring that “no inch of Nigeria’s territory will be lost to our enemies.”

He lauded the Nigerian troops fighting Boko Haram in the North-east of the country saying that they are professional who need necessary equipment to defeat the insurgents.

Buhari spoke about the economy saying his party, the APC, has perfected plans to develop the economy.He blamed the Goodluck Jonathan administration for not doing enough to improve the livelihood of the average Nigerian.

According to him, “the country has created two economies in one nation. A sorry tale of one economy for the rich and another for the poor. The two things that have bloomed under this government is waste and corruption.”

“Corruption will have no place and the corrupt will have no place in my administration,” he declared.

There have been speculations that Gen. Buhari might be unable to attend the engagement over alleged health issue.
