Runa Begum, a 16-month-old girl from Tripura, India, seen here with her parents, will receive medical attention for her hydrocephalus, according to reports.

Help is on the way at last for little Runa Begum, who suffers from hydrocephalus.

After photos of the 16-month-old girl circulated around the world, an Indian health agency offered to pay for her to receive the medical attention she desperately needs.

Runa is surrounded by friends and family before receiving medical care.

The group, Fortis Healthcare Limited, operates hospitals across India and the pan-Asian Pacific region.

An Indian healthcare group offered to pay for Runa’s treatment after photos of her circulated around the world.

The treatment may be a lifesaver for Runa. Hydrocephalus, or water on the brain, causes fluid buildup inside the skull and requires immediate treatment to prevent brain damage.

Runa’s father, Abdul Rahman, earns about $3 a day working at a brick factory in Tripura, northeast India, and the family was at a loss for how to pay for her medical care.
